Chaperones - Very Important People!

Band events are made possible partly through the generous contribution of time by Band Family Member to chaperon away football games & contests.

Chaperoning is not only an opportunity for you to help the band and spend time with your student, but also an opportunity to get to know other Band Students, other Band Family Members, and Band Directors.

 

2010 Events:  Away Games & Contests October

  • Fri. Oct. 1st vs Frisco

  • Sat. Oct 2nd - USSBA Marching Contest

@ Wylie ISD

 

  • Sat. Oct 9th - Tournament of Champions

@ Standridge Stadium

 

  • Sat. Oct 16th - Region Marching Contest

Reminder:  Chaperones for Away Games should be in drive way next to the Band Hall at the time designated by the band director.

Contests
You will ride the bus to and from the contest with the Band - these are generally all-day events.  Chaperones traveling with the band are usually admitted free.

Please indicate the dates you are available to sign up in an email to chaperones@turnerband.com. You'll be emailing Volunteer & Chaperone Coordinator.

When volunteering, please provide your

  1. Name
  2. Best contact number
  3. Email address
  4. Child's name (for verification purposes only)

 

For the safety of the students, at least 5 chaperones are required for each band event.

Remember to report your chaperoning time.  All volunteer time is tallied and reported to the benefit of R. L. Turner High School.
