Chaperons
Chaperons are Very Important People!
Band events are made possible partly through the generous contribution of time by Band Parents* to chaperon away football games & contests.
Chaperoning is not only an opportunity for you, the Band Parent, to help the band and spend time with your student, but also an opportunity to get to know other Band Students, other Band Parents and the Band Directors.
Remember to report your chaperoning time. All volunteer time is tallied and reported to the benefit of R. L. Turner High School. Click here for the form to report volunteer hours.
For the safety of the students, eight chaperones are required for each band event.
Away Football Games
Reminder: Chaperones for Away Games should be in drive way next to the Band Hall by 5 pm.
Contests
You will ride the bus to and from the contest with the Band - these are
generally all-day events. Chaperones traveling with the band are
usually admitted free.
Click on the date(s) you are available to sign up. You'll be emailing Volunteer & Chaperone Coordinator, Linda Foxall. Please provide Linda with your phone number too, just in case she needs to call you with additional information. Chaperones are still needed for the contests listed below.
*- Also meant to include Band Grandparents. We are lucky enough to have some Band Grandparents that accompany us too.
